Momoiro Clover Z (ももいろクローバーZ, literally "Pink Clover"), commonly abbreviated as Momoclo (ももクロ), is a Japanese idol group, composed of five girls. The name was chosen to mean that the band was composed of innocent girls who wanted to bring happiness to people. In 2011, after the withdrawal of subleader Akari Hayami from the group, management added the letter "Z" to the name. In Japan, "Z" is a symbol of evolution, pronounced as /zɛt/.
