Synopis:

Jane and Duke (alias Capt. Blake) accidently meet in Vera Cruz while chasing flim-flam man Fiske. Soon the local Inspector General (El Gato) is involved. Fiske races across Mexico, pursued by Jane and Duke, trailed by the real Capt. Blake. The crafty Inspector General is waiting for them in Tihuacan but they all give him the slip, just in time for the climactic finale. Very tight script and pacing

Sinopse Pt Br:

Vera Cruz, México. Um navio acaba de atracar nas docas e um dos passageiros, o tenente Duke Holliday (Robert Mitchum), tem sua cabine invadida pelo capitão Vincent Blake (William Bendix), que tenta localizar uma grande soma. Vendo a razão da "visita", Duke argumenta dizendo que ele está seguindo o homem . Blake se distrai por um momento e Duke o domina, pegando os documentos de Blake. Ao sair do cais ele esbarra em Joan Graham (Jane Greer) e se falam por um breve momento. Logo eles se encontram de novo, pois ambos procuram a mesma pessoa: Jim Fiske (Patric Knowles). Joan quer achar Fiske por motivos pessoais, já Duke quer achá-lo por motivos bem mais sérios. Logo Joan terá de decidir se Duke está falando a verdade - ele foi pego em algumas pequenas mentiras - ou se é um pilantra, sendo que julgar erradamente pode ser fatal
