The Quintet and Octet were recorded by the Academy of Ancient Music Chamber Ensemble, and the Violin Sonatas were recorded by Jaap Schroder (violin)-a man whom I had the privilege of meeting in the early 90s-and Christopher Hogwood (fortepiano). The recordings were made in the 80s and 90s and were released by L'Oiseau-Lyre as a double CD in 1997. These brilliant performances are perfect for those who wish to hear these familiar pieces on period instruments.
