Backstory:

Ages ago, a kind warrior named Shino fought and defeated Daimajin. He trapped the spirit of Daimajin inside a stone statue. From that day forward, those needing his help could awaken the spirit of Daimajin from its slumber within the statue.

Daiei Film Co., creators of the Gamera movie series, produced three Daimajin movies. All were made and released in 1966.
