Stan Getz: Stan's Party (Live at Montmartre 1977) 2CD / V0 torrent

In January 1977, Stan Getz performed live at the Café Montmartre Jazz-Hus in Copenhagen, Denmark, with pianist Joanne Brackeen, bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, and drummer Billy Hart.

The excellent music recorded at these gigs was initially issued by Steeplechase on the albums “Stan's Party” and “Live at Montmartre”.

The tenor saxophonist was in good spirits, as many of the performances are extended workouts. The choice of material is very wide-ranging, delving from standards by Billy Strayhorn and Dizzy Gillespie to Wayne Shorter's post-bop works and Latin jazz.

This is an excellent outing that belongs in every Stan Getz fan's collection, a supremely satisfying spread of straight-ahead jazz.
