Star Wars Episode VIII: the Last Jedi (Armchair Director's Cut)

The Last Jedi "Armchair Director's Cut" is a fan fiction and alternate interpretation of the original film.

As I am aware that a fan fiction currently exists, this is not a political statement in any way, shape or form. I am not personally in agreement with complaints about The Last Jedi that pertain to SJW propaganda, feminism or political agenda otherwise.

I do however, sympathize greatly with Star Wars fans that have issues with The Last Jedi in terms of damaging the long established lore, ignored plot points from its direct predecessor, disrespect to legacy characters, etc. This version of the film aims to right some of those wrongs; simply for fun and the enjoyment of Star Wars fans that feel similarly.

The source video is a cam, as that is all I had access to this early. If this alternate version of the film is widely enjoyed, I will duplicate the effort with a full HD source when it becomes available. That said, there has been extensive restoration work done; color enhancement, de-flickering, sharpening, etc. for the video; and even deeper production with the audio.

The name I have given this work should speak for itself. The name "Armchair" comes from the term "Armchair Quarterback". Dictionary.Com defines Armchair Quarterback" as follows:

"A person who offers advice or an opinion on something in which they have no expertise or involvement".

"Armchair quarterback" is an idiom that originated in the United States. It refers to someone who doesn't participate in an action but still makes judgments about it. The phrase takes its meaning from the fact that a quarterback is the player in the American sport of football who controls much of the game. An "armchair quarterback" is someone who offers his or her opinion on something without actually being a part of it. It is an idiom that has branched out from the sports world to encompass many other aspects of life."

So, in short; the name is intended to convey that I am not a director, and I don't pretend to be. I also do not claim that I could have done a better job than Rian Johnson did. This is just for fun ( :
