Frank O. Gehry's latest European museum building. Situated in Herford, a major centre of the German furniture industry, MARTa opened its doors to the public in December 2004. Conceived as a laboratory for redefining the relationship between art, design and industry, this fascinating complex houses art galleries, a competence centre (library and educational workshop facilities) and forum for conferences and cultural events.
