The reason this edit was done is simple. Jamie. Lee. Curtis.

This edit was done a few years ago. Video sourced from a dvd.

Some of the changes done:

Removed some soap opera stuff between the captain and the crew. Removed one character's cowerdice. Removed most of the scenes that show crappy little robots. Changed the tone by slowing the protagonist reveal. Less is more in this case. Removed some bad dialog.

Now the show flows like a summer movie. Big bad guy, situation like a ticking bomb, horrible future if the baddies are not stopped, haunted ship, guns and Jamie Lee Curtis. No, I don't have a crush on her. You do.
