I remember seeing this in the theater and wondering why they went full on crazy villain mode. Plus they included things for what seemed to be for the younger crowd.

Changes:

This edit changes the violent tone by including most of the deleted scenes and removing some parts that fell flat. Like the battle with the unknown dudes on that planet. More time with the crew means more care for them when things change to action. Less crazy villain actions from the antagonist makes for a more interesting character.
