Lucian On the Syrian Goddess torrent

A proper rendering of the text in English has been very hard to find. The English translation in Loeb is unreadable and the only readily available version online is more than 100 years old. Here is Lightfoot’s scholarly study providing text, commentary, and context for this important work. Also in this torrent is Attridge and Oden’s translation, though without any scholarly apparatus. And finally, there is Oden’s Studies in Lucian’s De Syria Dea, which he describes as “a slight reworking” of his “1975 Harvard University dissertation.”
