FPS:BB98 is a very good physics-based baseball simulation. Though it doesn't boast the statistical accuracy of say, the Diamond Mind or Out Of The Park series of text sims, it is most importantly a lot of fun to play.

Unfortunately it requires Win 95/98/Me and will not run under 2000/XP/Vista.

The easiest thing to do would be to install W9x to a VMWare guest. I haven't tried it under Virtualbox (Vbox's W9x support is poor). Neither have I tried it under Wine/Cedega in Linux. It's well worth dusting off an old computer you might have in the closet to play it with too.
