the client doesn't work on Windows XP, i recommend you get a copy of vmware workstation, and install windows 98 in a virtual machine to run the client

the iso contains version 1.0, there is an update to 1.1.009, update2knet11.exe
which is prob worth digging up (you will most likely need to install the game on win98 to able to update it, it's easy to copy and paste the entire game once updated, install not required to run)

however, you can just copy the game off the cd to run it, install is not required if you don't mind not running the latest version

the server part runs ok to some degree on Windows XP, however you should change the process priority to 'below normal' before you start a game with it as it will make the rest of the system run slow (uses 100% of the cpu)

rename/delete intro.avi to skip it every time you start the client
