Nieuw in het spel is de NBA\'s Greatest -modus, waarin je vijftien legendarische momenten uit de NBA kan naspelen. De momenten worden gepresenteerd in de stijl van toen, waarbij de allereerste wedstrijden in zwart-wit te spelen zijn. Daarnaast speel je ook met de regels van toen. Stap in de schoene van legendarische spelers zoals Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in de \'86-\'87 Lakers tegen Celtics match of Scottie Pippen in de \'95-\'96 Bulls tegen de Supersonics wedstrijd. Het spel telt daarnaast talloze klassieke spelmodi zoals Quick-Play, Classic Team mode en Franchise mode.
