Polem zmagań gry są czasy Wojny Stuletniej, wzbogacone o wiele fikcyjnych bitew, napadów czy konnych pościgów za bandytami. Do wyboru dostajemy trzy, w pełni grywalne nacje: Anglików, Francuzów i Niemców. W zależności od podjętej decyzji, pod naszą komendą staje 18 różnorodnych jednostek, wśród których znajdziemy: jazdę, rycerzy uzbrojonych w miecze, topory lub włócznie, łuczników, kuszników, a nawet saperów i podrzucających ładunki wybuchowe sabotażystów. Gracz wzmacnia siłę swojej armii poprzez budowę wszelakich baszt, katapult, armat, itp. (w sumie 25 budynków, podzielonych na dwie kategorie: militarne i ekonomiczne).

Obraz całości dopełniają dopracowane efekty audio-wizualne (historyczne rekonstrukcje ogromnych średniowiecznych twierdz oraz realistyczny sposób prowadzenia oblężenia).
