RimWorld is a Scifi colony game, with story elements being introduced by an AI with a number of different personalities. In the game, you will take control of a group of three survivors, initially, of a crashed interplanetary spaceliner, with the ability to gather more colonist, either through buying slaves from passing traders, or capturing the occasional raider.

Set in a universe where faster than light travel isn't possible, combined with the possibility of civilizations to devolve, either through war or disaster, going from one planet to another you could potentially find civilizations as simple as pre-tribal hunter-gatherers or as complex as machine worlds with machine gods, and anything in between, lending itself to the backstory and skill diversity of the colonists that you lead.
