In late 1989/early 1990 Metal Hammer Magazine put out a four part special called "The Metal Decade", all in all 128 pages, chronicling the musical landmarks of the decennium. Lots of great pics (why aren't todays promopictures as fun?) and interviews, important events and record releases listed from month to month, and also special features on Donington and other festivals, plus articles on famous rock recording studios, record labels etc. Summa summarum, a priceless document of metal during it's heyday decade.
