“Sahara Desert Fly-in” is a scenery add-on for FSX depicting approximately 150
square miles of desert landscape, located on the western edge of the Sahara desert
in Mauritania, Africa. It has been designed for flight-sim enthusiasts who enjoy
flying slower aircraft at low altitude; aircraft such as the Piper Cub, Drifter
Ultralight, Cessna 182 Skylane, all the way to helicopters and gliders. It has been
designed for sim-pilots that enjoy an uncomplicated and non-procedural VFR flight
over highly detailed, interesting and challenging terrain at low altitude.
The idea to make this add-on came from the desire to have scenery packed with lots
of highly detailed objects and “eye-candy”, which can be flown at very low altitude
and still looks good. Scenery where you can enjoy a flight without preparing a flight
plan in advance. Just hop into the aircraft, take off and cruise, and the scenery will
be all yours.
