SUMMARY
Diablo I is a classic game which hasn’t transitioned well to newer versions of Windows. Refusing to let Diablo die, hackers have resolved many graphic and networking incompatibilities. This release seeks to continue their work; packaging tweaks and hacks in a clean format. While functionality has been restored mechanics and content remain unaltered. This edition feels and plays just like Diablo did in 1997.

NETWORKING
This edition supports the following three methods of online play:
[Pseudo-IPX ] To use this method all players must be connected though a LAN or VLAN and UDP port 54792 should be forwarded
[LAN ] To use this method all players must be connected through a LAN or VLAN and UDP port 6112 should be forwarded.
[Battle.net] To use this method all players must be connected to the Internet and UDP ports 6112-6119 should be forwarded.

HACKS/TWEAKS
[-] Diablo has been bundled into a single self-contained binary.
[-] No CD is required. As a side effect, size has been dramatically reduced.
[-] Washed out and rainbow colors no longer occur.
[-] All methods of online play have been restored.
[-] All saved games are now located in a folder on the user’s desktop.

REMAINING BUGS
[ ] The opening cinematic does not scale correctly.
[ ] This edition relies on a hidden batch script for automation, which may be falsely flagged as a virus. The script can be found in \%APPDATA%\Diablo\Script\ .
