The only subtitles that could be found were the hard-coded subs on one of the rips. Those have been converted to text (.srt), including song lyrics near the end and closing credits. Proofreading has reduced the errors and omissions almost to zero.

These CHT (Chinese-traditional, or Mandarin) subs would be helpful to someone willing to create polished hand-made English-language subs.

The movie itself is generally agreed to be lamentable in many respects -- script, acting, photography/editing. Why, then, did it become so popular with many Taipei viewers?
