Benny Hill NY torrent

The DVD of Benny Hill in New York seems to have been all but lost to the torrenting world. Until now.

At great personal risk and expense, I have actually PURCHASED a DVD of this great show with the explicit intent of sharing it to fellow lovers of the late great Benny Hill.

This was Benny's last performance, but it has all the energy and humor of Benny at his best. There are criticisms that the last couple seasons of his shows were really not his best work: recycled jokes and lack of verve on-screen made for relatively unexciting performances.

Rejoice! It's all back here.

Also included for bonus material are a few sequences from Benny's near-mythical Australian special. It seems the real thing was never released on DVD, only VHS, despite a DVD in circulation CLAIMING to be the real show. Seems it's more a few authentic bits with some filler material. As far as I can tell, what's included here are the real thing. The closing beach/chase scene has Australian credits, and so is near-certainly authentic -- I'm pretty sure about the rest.

Also in the bonus material is a bit from legendary Australian comedian Paul Hogan, doing his own tribute to Benny Hill, "Benny Five-0", and is introduced by Hoges himself. Looking at air dates, it is very possible this was inspired by Benny's visit Down Under, although Hogan says nothing about this.

By the way, these are all rather low-quality snatches from YouTube, and can be viewed there in much better quality.
