A horse breeder is found dead, and almost everything proves that he is been kicked by his horse. But the post-mortem shows the opposite, the horse breeder had been hit to death and that is a case for Kurt Wallander. The neighbors confirms that he lived alone, but he had visits from a mysterious woman several times.

Wallander is adapted from the late Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander novels, and comprises 32 films in all.
This 1st series of 13 films was produced in 2005 and 2006, with one taken directly from a novel and the remainder with new storylines suggested by Mankell. The BBC aired all 32 episodes of the Swedish television versions on BBC Four.
