The Goodies (Complete) torrent

Here's my attempt to make a more watchable version of The Goodies. I didn't have the DVDs to work with so I used the following rips as the source.

There's a couple of samples included for comparisons between the original DVD rips and these re-encodes. Don't expect miracles, because the DVDs wouldn't have been great quality, especially the earlier seasons (a couple of episodes are B&W).

The DVD rips I used were (I'm fairly certain) cropped and resized under the assumption they have an exact 4:3 aspect ratio. The BBC uses a slightly wider aspect ratio for DVDs, so I stretched the width accordingly (about 2.5%), cropped the remaining crud from the sides, cropped to exactly 4:3 (which usually meant cropping a few extra pixels top and bottom) and resized to 640x480. A higher resolution didn't achieve anything, and with a lower resolution I could encode at a higher quality.

I ran a filter on the video sections to clean up the de-interlacing and denoise them, and a filter on the film sections to fix a lot of the frame bobbing, followed by some stronger noise filtering. I used pretty slow, quality filters, so the end result is an improvement, in my opinion.

Season 2, episode 8 was lost until a copy was found at the ABC. Apparently it'd been used for training purposes and the color is awful. I don't like watching it, so I've also included the B&W version I made for myself. I tried to fix the brightness for a couple of episodes in season 2, but the blacks were crushed and the whites blown out, so I couldn't do too much to improve them.

Many episodes go by several names. When applicable, I renamed them to match the "main" names used on Wikipedia
