United by their love of food, the duo are off to discover the local food scene and draw inspiration from their travels to whip up some unique recipes. The guys throw themselves into their work, getting down and dirty as they hive-hunt for honey, scour the beaches for abalone, and even catch their own dinner! Recipes That Rock - Season 1, Episode 1



At the famous Leeuwin Estate where Matt trained, Matt reunites with his first boss, Denis Horgan. Matt makes a delicious meal of freshly-caught marron, and a fennel and mayo salad with fresh herbs. After a short drive to Yallingup, one of the world's great big wave surfing destinations, they catch up with a friend, Josh Whiteland, who takes them to collect fresh abalone for Josh's Mexican spiced abalone with avocado and mango salad. Another mate needs the guys’help to row out to an island to bring his new litter of piglets back to the mainland. Then, farmhouse chef Matt Gilray prepares roast pork and grilled radicchio on a barbie on the verandah. Alex pays a visit to local luthier, Scott Wise and the two talk guitars and ukuleles, musician to musician.
