This 1940 movie featuring both Lugosi and Karloff, is about a brilliant brain surgeon who saves the life of his friend, a college professor, by replacing damaged brain tissue with that from the brain of a gangster called Red Cannon (Stanley Ridges).
At first everything seems to go well until Cannon's personality begins to reassert itself.....

A Review: “You won’t often find a film where both Karloff and Lugosi are overshadowed, but it happens here; in fact, Stanley Ridges melts so completely into both roles that I didn’t even realize he was playing both characters until about midway through … If not for the “science gone haywire” slant, Black Friday would really just be a crime drama, what with all of the betrayals and plot twists.”

Personally I completely agree and had a fun time with Lugosi playing a gangster role...it's surreal.
