*PS: If anyone should read this...I CORRECTED the Effects Shot of the Meteor / Spaceship Crashing Into the Camera in the opening credits. As well later: it is repeated in the film as the film's hero's witness the event. That Flaw Has Bugged me since I was a kid ! 
You can see the original briefly in Sven's opening monologue.

I've wondered for Years WHY it wasn't corrected back in 1953---maybe something to do with the originally intended 3-D process ? I'm not certain...
