Drag Idol 2017 - E01 (22 Feburary 2017) torrent

It's now in its tenth year and welcomes competitors from all over the North East, and beyond, drag queens of all shapes, sizes and styles in the raceas they battle it out to be crowned Drag Idol 2017.

The Newcastle competition has given us over 10 years of star turns, weird and wonderful performances and cutting put downs and now a new name is being sought to go into the Drag Idol hall of fame and join the likes of Anna Morphic, October DeWinter, Gucci Gabore and Octavia Die.

A packed Switch bar, host Ophelia B and a judging panel which includes newcomer Peter Darrant, gathered to see what unique brand of entertainment the class of 2017 would serve up as they made their first foray onto the stage on Sunday.

And the result? Well it was vintage Drag Idol.

There were stand out routines, a few that were all style and not enough substance and one or two that fell as flat as poor attempt at a pancake on Shrove Tuesday
