I have completed both games on NullDC emulator. It works fine.

NullDC setup:
Options -> nullDC settings -> System Region -> EUR
Options -> nullDC settings -> Broadcast Format -> PAL
Play only 50 HZ (60 hz saves don't work)
Don't use "Save & Exit" option, use instead Ryo's Bed (Shenmue I) and "Y" Menu (Shenmue II) Save options.
Don't play emulator games in Arcade buildings (QTE and Darts machines work fine)
