I am fully aware that 1720x720 is larger than traditional 2.39:1 "720p", which is 1280x536, but that is the resolution I intended for this movie at this bitrate.

AV1 is a newer, more efficient video codec than HEVC, and you can play it in a modern video player such as VLC or MPV. The Windows media player will also work, given that you have the free AV1 Video Extensions, but expect lower playback performance.

The video is tonemapped from the HDR source at a nominal peak luminance of 200 nits (i.e. it is best watched on a display with a brightness of 200 nits.)

This particular movie was encoded at CQ-level 27 and cpu-used 4 (medium preset) with the AOMenc AV1 encoder in av1an.
