La Marshall Tucker Band è un gruppo americano che (un po’ a fatica) possiamo inserire nel filone southern rock.
Personalmente non sono un gran ammiratore del genere, a parte gli Allman, i Tishamingo e qualcosa dei Lynyrd non mi ci ritrovo nella retorica e nei luoghi comuni del souther rock, tuttavia
riconosco che il genere ha saputo dare al rock anche grandi momenti e uno di questi è senza dubbio SEARCHIN’ FOR A RAINBOW della Marshall Tucker Band.
Rispetto al rock muscoloso tipico dei gruppi southern, quello della Marshall è più lieve e raffinato e almeno per il sottoscritto più interessante. SEARCHIN’ FOR A RAINBOW è uno degli album più riusciti del gruppo, uscì nel 1975 e la versione proposta è quella rimasterizzata uscita per la Shout Factory/Ramblin’ Records nel 2004.
