After another day at church, Marge decides she wants to eat out instead of cooking herself. When the family reach a place to eat, it turns out that they crashed a funeral. Homer decides to be a palbearer, filling in for a man who has twisted his ankle. After falling in the pit where the coffin goes, Homer goes to the hospital, where he develops the ability to sing in an operatic voice whenever he is lying on his back. Mr. Burns overhears Homer and immediately hires him to sing the lead in his production of La bohème. Homer wows the crowd at the Springfield Opera House. Homer becomes an enormous celebrity and while running from a mob of crazed fans (who are actually old women), Homer is saved by a mysterious woman named Julia, who has questionable intentions. She has powerful feelings for him and threatens to tell that he attacked her if he tells. Homer soon gets enraged and fires her, so she sets out to kill him, and at his next performance, tries to shoot him with a poison blowdart. Marge saves Homer and the shot fires through an instrument and back into Julia\'s neck. She is taken to the hospital, and Homer gives up opera to work on his new passion: painting.
