For those of you too young to remember - Frank Morrison Spillane (March 9, 1918 – July 17, 2006), better known as Mickey Spillane, was an American crime novelist, whose stories often feature his signature detective character, Mike Hammer. After his death, his friend and literary executor, Max Allen Collins began the task of editing and completing Spillane’s unpublished typescripts, beginning with a Mike Hammer novel, The Goliath Bone (2008).
In this collection three books are abridged and four have no recordings. There was an unabridged Vengeance is Mine floating around for years and it is now dead. I included 2 copies of book One. Until recently only one unabridged version was available. Richard Wulf was all cleaned up and ready to go when I got the newer version so I’m uploading both. Sources are: torrents, Overdrive, Audible and CD and all at 64k for continuity.
Like the Max Allan Collins, there is nothing politically correct about Mickey Spillane..

Hammer’s longtime partner, Velda, disappeared after he broke it off for her own safety, and his office is shut down.
When a woman is murdered practically on the funeral’s doorstep, Hammer is drawn into the hunt for a cache of Nazi diamonds that makes the Maltese Falcon seem like a knickknack and for the mysterious woman who had been close to Doolan in his final days. Everything leads to a Mafia social club where Hammer and his .45 come calling, initiating the wildest showdown since Spillane’s classic One Lonely Night.

With himself for a client, Hammer—and his beautiful, deadly partner Velda—take on the narcotics racket in New York just as the streets have dried up and rumors run rampant of a massive heroin shipment due any day. In a New York of flashy discotheques, swanky bachelor pads, and the occasional dark alley, Hammer deals with doctors and drug addicts, hippie chicks and hit men, meeting changing times with his timeless brand of violent vengeance.
17 - Lady, Go Die! (2012) – Stacy Keach – 6hrs 48 min - Mike Hammer, original book 2
This was Mickey Spillane’s lost, never-before-published 1940s Mike Hammer novel, written between I, the Jury and My Gun Is Quick and completed by Spillane’s friend Max Allan Collins
“The next time you pull a gun on me I put one between your eyes.”
Private investigator Mike Hammer and the beautiful Velda go on vacation to a small beach town on Long Island after wrapping up the Williams case from I, the Jury. Walking along the boardwalk, they witness a brutal beating at the hands of some vicious local cops—and Hammer wades in to defend the victim. Hammer accompanies a conservative politician to Moscow on a fact-finding mission. Arrested and imprisoned by the KGB on a bogus charge; he quickly escapes, creating an international incident by getting into a firefight with Russian agents. On his stateside return, the government is none too happy with Hammer. Russia is insisting upon his return to stand charges, and various government agencies are following him. 19 - King of the Weeds (2014) – Stacy Keach – 7hrs 23min
In what Mickey Spillane had planned to be the final Mike Hammer novel, Hammer finds himself up against a clever serial killer targeting only cops. A killer Mike Hammer’s old friend Captain Pat Chambers had put away many years ago is suddenly freed on new, seemingly indisputable evidence, and Hammer wonders if this outwardly placid, very odd old man might somehow be engineering cop killings that all seem to be either accidental or by natural causes. At the same time, Hammer and Velda are dealing with the fallout—some of it mob, some of it federal government—over the $89 billion cache the detective is (rightly) suspected of finding not long ago.

What’s more, Mike’s pal Captain Pat Chambers has discovered that Velda is in Florida, the moll of gangster and drug runner Nolly Quinn. Hammer hits the road and drives to Miami, where he enlists the help of a horse-faced newspaperman and a local police detective. But can they find Velda in time? And what is the connection between the murdered vice cop in Manhattan, and Mike’s ex turning gun moll in Florida?
21 - Murder Never Knocks (2016) – Stacey Keach – 6hrs 15min
Mike Hammer is a popular guy, at least with certain people. Several failed assassination attempts have got him riled, so apart from preventing the kidnapping of a famous New York socialite, he’s hell-bent on figuring out who wants him dead…someone who’s desperate for the kill of his life.
EXTRA – I’ve got them, you get them.
Dead Street (2007) - Richard Ferrone – 5hrs 19min
One of a handful of novels he was working on at the time of his death, this fine, perhaps final, work from hard-boiled fiction icon Spillane (1918–2006) was prepared for publication by Hard Case vet Max Allan Collins. In it, NYPD detective Jack Stang receives word that his old fiancée, Bettie, who supposedly died in a kidnapping-gone-wrong 20 years earlier, is still alive and residing in a small Florida coastal community. The good news is countered by the fact that, in the car crash that was supposed to have killed her, she lost her eyesight and all her memories. Even worse, the men who had her kidnapped in the first place have perfectly good memories and are still looking for her—and willing to kill for the information locked in her damaged brain.
