Iain Banks is a famous scotish author, if you want to know more, read wikipedia, or better - read his books, you won’t regret.

He is known under 2 names: Iain Banks for general fiction and non-fiction, and Iain M. Banks for Sci-Fi. Both are great, but since he had some reason to separate it, I will do this also.
