Virgil’s Aeneid, one of the great classical poems, recounts the story of Aeneas, a Trojan, fleeing the city after its defeat by Achilles and the Greeks, and his many adventures on his journey in search of the land where he is destined to build the city that will one day become the centre of the world, Rome.

I love audiobooks, but I am often dismayed by the poor quality of the narration. Even a great book can be ruined by robotic reading, unfortunately there are too many people more interested in uploading as many audiobooks as possible, regardless of their appalling quality. This dramatisation is performed by some of the world’s leading actors, you won’t hear a better recording.

I make no apology for having high standards, there is enough shit in the world.
