The title "An Illustrated Dictionary of Important Terms and Effects in Optoelectronics and Photonics reflects" exactly the contents of this dictionary. It is not meant to be an encyclopedia in this field but rather a selfcontained semiquantitative description of terms and effects that frequently turn up in optoelectronics and photonics courses at the undergraduate level.
