This is the 2000 Korean military/thriller/mystery film. Its native title is "공동경비구역 JSA."

"Nothing is more symbolic of the division of Korea into two countries as the 'Bridge of No Return' in Panmunjom, the demilitarized zone on the border between the two states. One day, a border guard is killed by a rifle bullet; the suspected marksman is a South Korean soldier, who is found wounded in the middle of no-man's-land. This incident will have grave repercussions. Both North and South Korea regard the incident as an act of deliberate provocation. The North accuses the South of having committed a 'terrorist attack,' whilst South Korea suspects the North of having attempted an 'abduction.' Both sides appeal to the authorities of the neutral states (NNSC) for help and ask them to investigate the affair. A female Swiss Army captain of Korean descent is then sent to Panmunjom to investigate the death of the North Korean border guard, apparently shot in the line of duty by a South Korean guard. At first, neither army officers from the South nor communist officials from the North will cooperate - until it is obvious to all that the truth must come out to defuse a potentially explosive international incident."

This has edited "soft" English captions; that is, English subtitles are part of the MKV file and the subtitles can be enabled or disabled as you wish.

I downloaded the source video "gimchi-jsa2000.1080p.mkv" and extracted the English subtitles from that. Then I...
- Used Subtitle Edit (by Nikolaj Lynge Olsson) to find and fix all flagged issues
- Added 0.7 second to each subtitle (where possible) to allow more time to read them
- "Softened" all subtitled profanity (bastard --> jerk, damn --> darn, bitch --> wench etc.)
- Corrected commonly-found typos, also converting many word pairs into their common English contractions
- Watched the film and italicized music lyrics, characters' thoughts, short flashbacks, and some off-screen dialogue; also color-coded some subtitles for clarity as appropriate, using yellow, teal, and salmon colors for signs, flashbacks, and written/printed material
- Used Handbrake to create the new MKV file, adding my subtitle file as soft captions

This film has a certain amount of violence which I did not edit, but I did use a linear video editor to do the following at these time codes:
17:14 blurred genital area of a nude body
17:47 blurred the butt of a nude body
28:42 removed English "shit"
47:03 blurred nude photos in a girly magazine
