E20 The Finals - Starters
It’s finals week, where the winners from the heats compete to cook a course at a spectacular banquet at Blenheim Palace to celebrate great Britons of the past and Great British Menu’s 20th year. The eight rivals from all corners of the UK compete over a different course, from starter through to dessert, where they will be marked out of ten by an expert judging panel, including a surprise guest judge. Film director Gurinder Chadha, a hero of British cinema, is invited to join Michelin-starred chefs Tom Kerridge and Lorna McNee and food podcast host and comedian Ed Gamble on the judging panel. They’re tasked with picking a winner from eight vegan starter courses, which are all inspired by great Britons of the past. It’s a nerve-wracking first day as the chefs settle into the kitchen and meet their rivals. Each wants to win a course at the banquet and get their name on the menu. Can they improve on their scores from the first rounds?

E21 The Finals – Fish Course
Comedian Russell Kane, whose Evil Genius podcast casts a new light on famous historical figures, joins Tom Kerridge, Lorna McNee and Ed Gamble on the judging panel. They’re tasked with picking a winner from eight fish courses, which are all inspired by great Britons of the past. With their first day nerves behind them, the chefs have settled into the kitchen - but they’ve been thrown a curveball. A wildcard chef has been invited back to compete, having scored the highest score of the series for their fish course. How will the chefs deal with the extra competitor and the added pressure?
