Detective Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya) of Tsukishima Chuo Police Precinct arrives in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture in order to deliver personal effects from a case to the family of the deceased. Hearing the screech of tyres and the sound of gunshots, he rushes to the scene and is just in time to see someone kidnap university professor Morisue Keiichiro (Harada Daijiro) and get away in a car. Itomura runs up to Morisue’s car, which has been left unattended, to protect the female university student in the passenger seat. At that moment, a lost item catches his attention. It is a ticket for a reserved seat on an overnight express train which runs between Tokyo and Nagasaki. The date of the seat reservation was 22 years ago. Why was it not used?
