Editors’ Notes: Singer-songwriter MARiA and composer/producer toku scored a few hits in their respective careers before joining forces as GARNiDELiA in 2010. After two self-released mini-albums, they caught the attention of Sony Japan's DefSTAR Records and their resulting full-length debut Linkage Ring cracked the Top 20. Their highly stylized, confident electro-pop, interwoven with gentle synth warm-ups, industrial passages and rock outbursts, was also adopted by popular anime like Kill la Kill. MARiA's full-bodied vocals are a compelling force throughout this mix—in turn emotive, intimate and unpredictable.
