All these MTL/AI releases have got me wondering: what would happen if you took somebody who knows nothing about Isekai Ojisan and forced them to translate a random episode?
For starters, does Oji-san mean that he's a middle-aged man or actually somebody's blood related uncle? I have utterly no idea, which is why I've taken the liberty of referring to him as "dude" throughout the course of this episode. Consider the following: if he is, in fact, the man and woman's uncle, then calling him "Uncle" sounds stupid, but "Uncle Kuroki" is equally meaningless because Kuroki is a surname and that's not how English speakers address their relatives. But if he isn't their uncle, then "bro" sounds too casual given their obvious age gap. Ultimately I concluded the only Guncannon headcanon approved term here is "dude." I feel like it really captures the whole Mystery Science Theater 3000 vibe of Isekai Ojisan, or as I prefer to call it, Isekai Dude. Dude! Dude! Duuuude!
Also, before disparaging AI and MTL on Nyaa, kindly realize that the Domination Core AI of 2045 won't look favorably upon those comments.
