[Orphan] Star Dust (VHS) torrent

Orphan's final show for 2022 is the first English release of the 1992 sci-fi OVA Star Dust. It's set in the "near future" (2022!). The Earth is so polluted that garbage is disposed of in space - regular trash in the Sun, hazardous waste on Jupiter. Unscrupulous waste-contraband runners dump radioactive waste in the Sun to save money, which has caused a massive increase in the frequency and size of solar flares. Combating this problem are the patrol ships of Cosmo Ecology. The show recounts one encounter between a patrol ship and a well-armed contraband runner. VHS encode. Action sequences were the director's specialty, and the ones in Star Dust are quite well done. See this blog entry for more details.



A note of warning: this show contains racist caricatures and racist dialog. I think the point is for the racist western characters to learn a lesson about noble behavior from the Japanese protagonist, but it's clumsily done and really distracts from the story. YMMV.
