Directed by Takashi Yamazaki (Director of Stand By Me Doraemon and Space Battleship Yamato), who co-wrote the screenplay with Tamio Hayashi (wrote two episodes of the Vampire Princess Miyu TV series and the Bunny Drop live-action film). It is adapted from the novel by Naoki Hyakuta.
