It seems like this is where the adaptation's plot significantly diverges from the manga… though maybe they might converge again next episode, who knows. There's going to be some web-only spinoff "airing" concurrently with episodes 8 and 9, which I might or might not do.

Re: question in the comments: the original TV airing and the web streams are both 30 fps. I'm not an incompetent encoder, so all the duplicate frames are removed and the resulting video stream is 24 fps.
