A cause du travail de ses parents, Yu Narukami emménage chez son oncle, dans la ville rurale d'Inaba. Sur place, Yu se fait à sa nouvelle vie et sympathise avec Yosuke Hanamura et Chie Satonaka.
Mais le jour même de sa rentrée, en seconde année de lycée, un mystérieux évènement frappe Inaba : Le corps d'une journaliste est découvert, suspendu à une antenne.
Peu après, Yu découvre l'existence de la Mayonaka Tv, un phénomène qui consisterait à voir apparaître le visage de son âme-sœur en fixant son écran de télévision, à minuit, un soir de pluie.
Yu s'essaie au phénomène et voit apparaître le visage d'une lycéenne. En plus de ça, le jeune homme découvre qu'il possède la faculté d'entrer dans l'écran de télévision.
Le lendemain, un nouvel évènement frappe Inaba, et Yu se rend compte que les personnes apparaissant dans la Mayonaka Tv meurent peu de temps après leur apparition. Et si il y avait un lien entre cette série de meurtre et le monde parallèle qui se trouve derrière les écrans de télé ?
Un monde où nos héros pourraient faire apparaître une entité issue de leur âme portant le nom de "Persona" ?.
