Bob Dylan The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration [2014][FLAC][16bits]

Le 16 octobre 1992, le Madison Square Garden a vu défiler bon nombre de légendes de la musique venues célébrer le 30ème anniversaire du premier album de Bob Dylan (sorti sur Columbia Records) : le concert de l’année à New York. Les participants ont interprété certaines des chansons de la légende vivante qui les avaient émus et inspirés au cours des trois décennies précédentes : des morceaux culturellement emblématiques et connus de tous (« Like A Rolling Stone » interprété par John Mellencamp), comme des morceaux plus confidentiels de la discographie de l’hôte (« Foot Of Pride » réappropriée par Lou Reed).

Pendant les quatre heures de concert, les 18 000 spectateurs et les nombreux autres téléspectateurs (le concert a été retransmis en direct à travers le monde) ont eu le privilège de voir réunis sur scène de véritables légendes vivantes de la musique : Johnny Cash et June Carter Cash, Lou Reed, The Clancy Brothers, Ritchie Havens, Johnny Winter, Roger McGuinn, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Ron Wood, Chrissie Hynde, The O’Jays, Eddie Vedder, Sinéad O’Connor, Tracy Chapman, George Harrison (qui n’était pas monté sur scène aux Etats-Unis depuis 18 ans), et bien d’autres. Dans le backing band formé pour accompagner les artistes, on a pu compter trois membres de Booker T. & The M.G.’s, G.E. Smith à la guitare ou encore Jim Keltner et Anton Fig à la batterie.

Surnommée spontanément « Bobfest » par un Neil Young radieux, la soirée d’anniversaire a atteint son point d’orgue au moment où Roger McGuinn, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Neil Young et Bob Dylan lui-même se sont mis à bœuffer.
