Dr. Ebbetts Sound Systems (DESS) est un label pirate spécialisé dans les needledrops (transferts des disques vinyles sur CD) des albums des Beatles. A une époque où de nombreux audiophiles étaient insatisfaits du son du catalogue officiel des CD, le Dr Ebbetts a fourni une alternative de haute qualité et a gagné un public fidèle. Ces remasters provenant de presses originales en vinyle et emballés dans de fidèles reproductions de l'œuvre originale sont devenus des classiques incontournables pour les aficionados.

La qualité sonore obtenue est supérieure à celle des CD de 1987 ainsi qu' à la collection MFSL vinyle d'origine.

Le Dr. Ebbetts ayant cessé toute activité depuis 2008, ses remasters sont aujourd'hui très recherchés par les fans et très prisés des collectionneurs.

La présente version MFSL 2008 est issue d'un pressage vinyle japonais transféré à partir d'une technique de pointe nommée half-speed.
Comparativement à la précédente version US, le son a été légèrement augmenté et les clics résiduels supprimés.
