Air est un groupe de musique français originaire de Versailles formé en 1995 composé de Jean-Benoît Dunckel et de Nicolas Godin.

Il est assimilé au mouvement musical French touch (musique électronique française). Son succès est international, particulièrement en Grande-Bretagne et aux États-Unis. En 1998, son premier album Moon Safari est un des disques de l'année, grâce notamment au hit-single Sexy Boy. Deux ans plus tard, la bande originale The Virgin Suicides composé pour le film du même nom de Sofia Coppola, permet au groupe d'asseoir sa notoriété.

À la frontière de l'électronique, de la pop et du rock psychédélique, le groupe crée son propre style musical en offrant des mélodies cosmiques dans lesquelles de nombreux riffs de guitare accompagnent des sons électroniques et des voix vocodées. Malgré leur timidité apparente, Jean-Benoît Dunckel et Nicolas Godin ne boudent pas la scène et organisent régulièrement des tournées internationales connues pour leurs versions alternatives et leurs réinterprétations en direct de certains de leurs titres.

Air a notamment collaboré avec Beck Hansen, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jarvis Cocker (de Pulp), Neil Hannon (de The Divine Comedy) et Nigel Godrich.

Pocket Symphony est leur 5e album sorti en 2007.
