The End of the Innocence est le troisième album solo de Don Henley, chanteur et batteur des Eagles. L'album est sorti en 1989 sur Geffen Records et sera sa dernière parution sur ce label.

L’album est son album le plus vendu, avec plus de 6 millions d’exemplaires vendus uniquement aux États-Unis, atteignant la huitième place. L'album comporte trois singles du Top 40 "The End Of The Innocence", "The Heart Of The Matter" et "The Last Worthless Evening". Ces singles ont atteint les n ° 8, n ° 21 et n ° 21 respectivement. L’album comportait également "New York Minute", classé numéro 48 dans les charts et qui figure sur l'album live Hell Freezes Over enregistré en 1994 par Henley et les Eagles. Henley a remporté un autre Grammy et un MTV Video Music Award pour la chanson titre.
