Shaman est le dix-neuvième album studio de Santana. Shaman a été libéré le 22 octobre 2002 et a fait ses débuts au numéro 1 du Billboard 200. Il a été certifié Double Platinum aux États-Unis. Le premier single de l'album était "The Game of Love", avec Michelle Branch. "Why Don't You & I", mettant en vedette Chad Kroeger de Nickelback, a également été réenregistré sous forme de single en 2003, dans lequel figurait Alex Band de The Calling. À l'instar de l'album précédent Supernatural, Shaman regroupe divers artistes célèbres du rock, du hip hop et de la pop, ainsi que la star de l'opéra espagnol Plácido Domingo. L'album est actuellement la plus longue sortie en studio de Santana à ce jour. La version internationale (hors des États-Unis) supprime la piste "Since Supernatural", mélange les pistes restantes et inclut la chanson "Let Me Love You Tonight".
