Détails :
Groupe américain de R&B/soul de Cincinnati, Ohio, créé au début des années 1950. O'Kelly Isley, Rudolph Isley, Ronald Isley et Vernon Isley (mort en 1956 dans un accident de voiture) formaient le groupe initial. Ils ont sorti leur premier tube "Shout !" en 1959. En 1963, ils créent leur propre label T-Neck, et y ajoutent un jeune Jimi Hendrix à la guitare solo. En 1965, ils signent chez Motown où ils enregistrent "This Old Heart Of Mine". Ils quittent Motown en 1968 et relancent le label T-Neck en 1969 avec la sortie de "It's Your Thing". En 1973, ils ajoutent les frères cadets Ernie et Marvin Isley, ainsi que le beau-frère d'O'Kelly, Chris Jasper, à leur line-up habituel. Pendant cette période, de 1973 à 1983, le groupe continue à sortir des tubes comme "Between the Sheets", "Choosey Lover" ou "For the Love Of You".
