Pantera est un groupe de heavy metal américain, originaire d'Arlington, Texas. Il est initialement fondé en 1981 par les frères Abbott, le guitariste Dimebag Darrell et le batteur Vinnie Paul et dissout en 2005. Si, au départ, le groupe présente certaines caractéristiques apparentées au glam metal, sa musique relève avant tout du heavy metal. Cependant, dès 1990, le groupe prend un tournant radical vers le groove metal, un nouveau style dérivé du thrash metal.

Ce coffret 3CD 20ème anniversaire propose l’album original remasterisé, ainsi qu’un nouveau mix de l’album réalisé par le légendaire producteur Terry Date, qui travailla sur 4 autres albums de Pantera : Cowboys from Hell (1990), Vulgar Display of Power (1992), Far Beyond Driven (1994) et The Great Southern Trendkill (1996). Le CD3 de cette édition contient une sélection de raretés, ainsi que des Rough Mixes instrumentaux inédits.
